How Install Dock handles data on your computer and what the anonymous active-user pulse includes.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

Install Dock is a desktop application for USB Android deploy, inspect, and diagnose. Core workflows are designed to keep package files, device metadata, and logs on your computer. This policy explains that model and the one anonymous presence signal used for public active-user counts.

What stays on your computer

APK and other package files you open, USB device metadata used for deploy and inspect, local logs, settings, and session history remain on the host machine.

Privacy Mode is on by default and redacts serials and full paths in new logs until you choose otherwise.

There is no Install Dock account, license server, or cloud sync of your packages or device list.

Anonymous active-user pulse

While Install Dock is open, it periodically sends a small heartbeat to installdock.com so the website can show how many sessions are active and on which host OS (Windows, macOS, or Linux).

Each heartbeat includes only: (1) host operating system label, and (2) a random install identifier (UUID) created on first launch and stored locally. It does not include your name, email, device serials, package names, file paths, or logs.

This pulse is on by default and cannot be turned off in the app. Deploy and inspect still work if the heartbeat fails (offline or blocked network).

A session counts as active if a heartbeat was received within about the last 15 minutes. Older records are pruned from the server store.

What we do not collect

We do not collect analytics event streams, crash dump SDKs, advertising identifiers, or browsing history through the desktop app.

We do not upload APK bytes, screenshots from Device view, ADB command output, or application lists for product telemetry.

Website download counters

The marketing site may count installer downloads when you use the Download buttons (ticket-based). That is separate from the desktop presence pulse and does not identify you personally.
